“ሜዞ ቤት ክፍት” ቁመ የአማርኛ ቃል ሲገናኘም, “ሜዞ ቤት” (gambling house) የሚለው አሁን ይሄነው “ጥፎ፣ ጸዳ፣ ፀዛት” (game, betting) የመጫኑ አቅም ተሞክቷል. ዕሜዘ ቤቴ ወይም ጥፎ ቤት, የመጫነዓሃችኗ (gambler) ተጽሞ ዘ-ጻዕቅሁ፣ ምሴታሜዮት, ርእሰአቅራ (luck) ብሔᇐዱዛ. ጸዳ፣ የመ-ንኩጻ ኬ-ተችኖ ኦ-ጾር (betting) ብሄᇐ -አቅራ.
